AAPG Annual Convention & Exhibition 2012 - Long Beach, California

LMKR attended the AAPG Annual Convention & Exhibition 2012 in Long Beach, California from 23rd - 25th April under the theme Directing the Future of E&P: Starring Creative Ideas and New Technology.

As a preeminent international geological organization, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) is uniquely positioned to attract a focused audience of geosciences professionals. The technical program at ACE attracts industry leaders worldwide for its well-regarded oral and poster presentations.

Founded in 1917, AAPG is the world's largest professional geological society with over 34,000 members around the world. Its members include geologists, geophysicists, CEOs, managers, consultants, students and academicians. AAPG provides publications, conferences, and educational opportunities to geoscientists and disseminates the most current geological information available to the general public.

At AAPG Annual Convention & Exhibition this year LMKR unveiled a brand new booth design and a fresh strategy to better serve the visitors in terms of existing clients and potential clients to its booth. LMKR focused on the new functionalities introduced recently in GeoGraphix 2012 covering Geomodeling while Geosteering, Engineers Dashboard, Mapping and Reconnaissance, Geophysics, Geology, Geosteering and 3D Visualization through interactive live demos given by James Smith, Scott Oelfke and Fred Poland.

It was refreshing to see a renewed interest in the GeoGraphix® brand which could be clearly gauged by the sheer number of booth visitors showing a keen interest in what's new in GeoGraphix 2012. There was significant interest in what GeoGraphix had to offer by media representatives of notable E&P publications like Hart's E&P Magazine which yielded a fruitful conversation with Stan Abele - VP of Product Management.

The new approach adopted this time around focused more on intensive one on one interaction with the prospective clients and the existing customers that visited LMKR's booth over the period of the exhibition. Along with the live demos, presence of two touchscreens available at the booth to the visitors to go through training videos and webinars to get an idea of what was being offered added a new dimension, touchscreens proved to be a success as our sales representatives capitalized on the interest generated by approaching the viewer directly to generate leads. Overall strategy combined with the efforts of the LMKR members present at the exhibition was instrumental in achieving and surpassing the goals set prior to the AAPG in terms of the lead generation and addressing technical and non-technical queries throughout the duration of the exhibition.

AAPG 2012 was part of LMKR's global drive to market itself globally through taking part in notable conferences and events around the world related to the E&P industry.
