Operation NOVA is a 3D business simulation developed to provide a customized financial training solution to Halliburton. Operation NOVA v 2.3 has recently been doled out with enhanced features.
Halliburton trains its employees in efficient management of critical financial factors through the interactive experience of Operation NOVA.
The 3D game environment with high-end graphics portrays a Halliburton-specific oil exploration site and specialized equipment in operation.
-As a pre-defined game scenario, you are handed over the running business with current financial statistics. This challenges you to efficiently manage business’s critical financial factors. A random appearance of eminent business situation cards requires you to take further decisive financial steps. To do so, you are required to choose and implement strategies available against a number of financial drivers.
-Game control, action and financial panels help you control the game set, access financial sheets and implement business strategies.
-36 minute span of the game reflects 3 business years at the end of which you can view your scorecard stating financial stats you’ve earned for the business.
There have been two releases of this game; the first one was released in October 2005 while the second one in April 2006. The 3D financial simulation is based on the custom-built engine, Simultain, developed by LMKR. Halliburton uses Operation NOVA to train its management employees on the financial aspects of their business while the simulation visually presents a real-time oil exploration environment. The simulation provides interactive controls related to business logic, financial information screens and control panel from where the player can zoom in/out, rotate left/right/up/down and navigate the environment.
