- The project was awarded by BP in Q4-2004 to SAIC involving Landmark as the technology provider and LMKR as the resource infrastructure provider. The project was divided into three phases:
- Data management services involving transition from Schlumberger (SIS) to the new service provider (SAIC/Landmark/LMKR)
- Improvements in the service through new data management team and implementation of new technologies
- Identification and implementation of common processes and procedures all across BP sites globally resulting in value in investment, infrastructure etc for BP.
LMKR’s onsite and offsite staff is involved in data extraction from various sources (technologies and vendors) and data loading into different applications/databases. These include Landmark and any 3rd-party software which BP is currently using (or intends to use). The main data categories are seismic, wells, cultural, production and physical. Being offshore support for SAIC/Landmark team, LMKR is primarily involved in digital data management (loading/unloading/QC). Some of the software being used are OpenWorks, Finder, Geolog, Compass(EDM), DISCOS, CDAL, AssetDB, LogDB, Promax, production reporting systems and all the Landmark applications.
The process is supported by well-designed quality assurance for Windows, Unix or Linux platforms. The quality assurance processes are finalized based on the client’s feedback.
