| Aftab is a scientist and an innovator experienced in seismic field work, data processing, interpretation and workstation technology. Currently developing seismic velocity analysis and depth imaging for wide azimuth heterogeneous layered earth. Also develops and executes new business paradigms. Finds oil exploration and production prospects. Consults and conducts research in 3-D seismic methods, seismic imaging, seismic inversion, velocity estimation, multi-component seismology, vertical seismic profiles, AVO, seismic tomography, attribute analysis, and application of visualization technology to multidisciplinary data analysis and integration.
He has a MS degree in Applied Geophysics from Imperial College London and PhD in Electrical Engineering from SMU, Dallas U.S.A.
